Quick photo post

Hi all, just a small post showing some work I've done.

Last Saturday i obtained a road ragers 1960 FB Sedan from Branchline, i must say they're quite appealing and suitable for most Australian layouts in this era.

Finally I've decided on something and gone with it. Coorah is now a small branchline located somewhere in country Victoria, circa late 60's - 70's. The layout is a single switch with a station on one side and a 20 FT goods shed on the other. I figured i'd go with something simple and easy considering this really will be my first near-done layout. Putting down scenery has already begun and considering the size i will add lots of little detail into this layout. The idea for this was inspired by Russ' from RMweb, with his layout "Deadwater Burn" which can be seen here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=10949

I've installed uncoupling magnets and such, and have found that i can have lots of fun with this small fictional VR scene, I've included a photo below for now, hopefully more posts soon.

Regards, Alex.

T358 on a small goods train

Hi all, it's been a few months since my last post. Firstly the update on Coorah is that I've stopped working on this layout as I've found i made several mistakes which i have learnt from and will remember for the next layout, such as peco set track switches, too small for 12 wheeled engines such as B class' and such. Also, not using cork underlay.

Though it was sad to scrap all the work I have done, i've gotten into the module idea for layouts. At the moment i have a module which is roughly 1.5 metres long plus an extended fiddle yard which is roughly 60 CM long, the idea was to make a compact shelf layout with a VR scene. I'm struggling to find a track design to suit this, shunting/switching layouts are good but i wanted something more prototypical, which i've found extremely difficult to create in the amount of space i have and as a result it is causing me loads of stress, and i am sometimes questioning the thought of even having a layout.

I hope this isn't the end of modelling for me as i love model trains. If you have any ideas feel free to drop a comment below.

Regards, Alex.
